(Reach Out & click someone) Welcome to the Carnival of Cordite #72
Happiness is your own, way over built .308, an excerpt from J9Dine's email:
Well of course I have...but not gun related. I'm in the process of ordering a custom rifle, actually, and was waiting for the final specs to be in place before I put up a post and submitted it to COC. I'm going to have a tactical .308 built, ridiculously more than I will ever have a need for, complete with a fluted and braked barrel, AICS chassis with 10 round magazine, all accurized and finished with the best stuff
The Heartless Libertarian, says he is ready to rock with four posts! The first is Team Guslinger. I really like this next one, Commie Junk My A$$!, (some one would be missing a torso). Also of note, a Sad Occurrence. HL says, this one is the "Money Shot", Alternatives to the NATO 5.56 (can it ever come soon enough).
Clayton Cramer.com has this "self defense" post that is quite close to home. James City County is east of Richmond, VA. Excerpt:
A robbery attempt this morning at ABM Fashion Beauty was foiled when an employee of the store pulled out a handgun and fired several shots at the perpetrators, police said.
As always, SayUncle has some good ones as always, and we start off with a new blogger Building a Grand Strategy for Restoring the Second Amendment, and excerpt:
Two things need to be noted immediately:
1] the issue of how most people feel about the right of self-defense and
2] the fact that that same majority recognizes the right of self-defense as objectively correlative to, and inseparable from, the fact that each human being is born with the right to existence (at least in principle and prior to any forfeiture of that right consequent to bad acts). Why should we care about these two facts?
That was a good post/read, and so is "More Gun Strategy", and this post "You're Kidding", uncovers the facts about the ATF, you know just really cares about us... Now, don't you feel better :-)
Cogito Ergo Geek, has this submission from our "friends" at ABC news, "Whew". I had a little trouble with the video, but hopefully it will load better for you!
Helping the world shooter better and straighter is Revolutionary War Veterans Association Weblog, inviting us all down to the "Next Stop on the 2006 RWVA Appleseed Tour". Plus additional info, seems the next after that will be in Virginia, South of Roanoke, Second Weekend of December. Marksmanship is next to godliness, you know a good clean shot!
Speaking of Virginia, CounterTop Chronicles has got some word on new stuff from Ruger, that goes Bang! and this "A Most Excellent Post", about a bear in the woods...
Alton, of I'm Not Emeril, submits his first post "A little on Two Upcoming Seasons". We're going to get Alton to start talking a lot more about guns, because we know he's got some!
No Quarters has a great post, and you can just tell from the title, "Bad, Bad, Assault Thingy", an excerpt:
One man was arrested on suspicion of possessing an assault weapon near where authorities were clearing a 3,800-plant marijuana farm
The first image of this weapon, sometimes called an assault rifle, and assault weapon is here.
Listen to This, River Dog has "Guns and Democrats", an excerpt:
I was immediately suspicious, since the DNC just made a move in this direction, boosting the American Hunters and Shooters Assn (no link to the enemy), an organization dedicated to severing hunting weapon possession rights from the Second Amendment, presumably so the Second can be attacked without calling for a total gun ban, thereby preserving the possibility of hunting and target shooting sports temporarily.
River Dog, also has this better news out of Canada.
Speaking of Guns & Democrats, Rule .303, who just had his debut last week, submits "Hunting Doves", if only he literally meant that about getting rid of certain members of his party, like those after Senator Lieberman![]()
That wraps up this weeks Carnival of Cordite #72! Sorry for getting this out so late! Next week, (call for submissions goes out tomorrow), will be the Best of the Carnival of Cordite! Submit your best two or three submissions of All Time! This is a tribute to Gully's hard work. Also, submit your address and shirt size. The first twenty blogs to submit get COC shirts and shipping courtesy of Freedom Gear.com ! We are down to 19 at the present, so get those submissions in now!

I do that, too. A glance at my current top entry should demonstrate my constant willingness to kick the party when they're wrong.
We all understand issues, and of course that is what makes us Americans.. We will vote the candidate regardless of political party. I have and will continue to do so. The Dems have moved so far left though, especially on guns, that I have joined the Pub party, to actively work against them.
Your point and posts is notable, and most welcome!
