« I Believe I am with Paul Harris | Main | Staunton Mass Meeting - Letter To the Editor »

Congratulations Anne!

Anne Taetzsch won nothing short of  a mandate winning her re-election bid for Chair of the Staunton GOP Committee 58-20.  For those of you who may try and spin this, that is almost 3-1 support among Staunton City Republicans.

A near furor erupted when the Nominations Committee excluded some long time Republican Committee members from being voting members on the reconstituted Committee Membership for inter committee voting purposes.  I will not use names here, but these individuals were the culprits of disrupting the Staunton Committee meetings over the past 6 months.  The final decision on who will fill all of the slots will be decided upon by Taetzsch, as the case should be.  If Anne had only won by a small margin an argument could be made that a large portion of those opposing her should be voting members.

However, those members of the committee who have not allowed her committee to function properly, by constantly causing disruptions, and quite frankly unlady and ungentlemanly like conduct should be only allowed voting rights on the Committee at the Chairs discretion.

I for one can attest to members of this opposition making loud disparaging remarks at today's proceedings towards Anne in the presence of her own family.   That kind of public misconduct, is beyond the pale, and I hope that the Chair excludes them from membership.  Therefore,  should they attend future meetings as is their right, but become disruptive, the Chair does not have to recognize them, per Roberts Rules of Order, and can direct a Sgt. at Arms to eject them from the Meeting.

Congratulations Anne!

Thanks for coming out and showing your support. The support given to us when needed by others in our committee as well as Waynesboro, Augusta County, and by countless other committees, their members, and other elected representatives throughout the 6th, cannot be ignored. A big thank you to you all for your unwavering, true support. This victory, as you said Spanky, is a clear mandate. A clear mandate. And we shall CONTINUE to move forward in unity and with purpose for the next two years and beyond.

Alex:
You did a great job today! You take a lot of heat from a bunch of wannabes who do not hold Party positions, much less be a Committee Secretary like you are.

They whine and pout, while you perform. Under fire today as Chair of the Nominations Committee, you held your ground, and explained the rules while having to deal with some people who were publically displaying an ugly demeanor they have tried to force on your committee for almost a year now.

Your detractors are only jealous, and wish they had the responsibilities that have been entrusted to you. A Twenty year old!

Prost & Congratulations!

What a great day! First Anne win by a 3-1 margin and now the Caps are winning 3-0 with less than two minutes to go.

Thanks Phil:
The Dems don't seem to amused by the letter to the editor though. Heck I'm giving them credit for accomplishing something, you'd think they'd be proud of themselves?

I congratulate Anne on her victory...and urge that both sides come together for the sake of Party unity. I consider members of both sides of the fight to be friends and hope and pray for Peace in the Valley.

It is imperative that the Staunton, Waynesboro, and Augusta County units focus their attention on electing Jim Gilmore to the U.S. Senate, John McCain to the White House, and ensuring our Party retake the Governor's Mansion in 2009.

It's time we remember what being a Republican means...standing for limited government, defending traditional values, and defending the homeland from within and without.

Carl forgot one minor detail about what it means to be a Republican, stopping the brutal murder of over one million innocent human beings in their mother's wombs! Jim Gilmore believes that a baby is not a human being until 8 to 12 weeks after conception. Unfortunately Jim Gilmore's ignorance of a scientific fact discovered in the 1850's that life begins at conception not at "quickening" (the point when a mother feels the baby moving) will result in his keeping legal over 50% of all abortions. Pro-life? Not a chance!

Mother Theresa of Calcutta at a prayer breakfast attended by the Clinton's and Gore's described abortion as "muder by the mother herself" "a war against the child". Defend the homeland from whom? The war is raging, over 3,000 casualties a day.

Bob Marshall will defend life from conception to natural death. Will he win the nomination? Probably not if the Republican Party is filled with morally bankrupt people who don't care about the most basic justice, the right to life.
As Mother Theresa also said "I was called to be faithful not successfull"

One more quote; from Saint Josemaria Escriva founder of Opus Dei " Serenity. Why lose your temper if by losing it you offend God, you trouble your neighbor, you give yourself a bad time...and in the end you have to set things aright anyway?"

Please scratch the "morally bankrupt" from the previous post. Sorry about that,a bit judgemental!
