I got my obligatory email solicitation from the RNC, and of course Ken Mehleman, and it said:

- Dramatic increases in manpower and technology at the border
- A system of controlled, temporary, and legal entry into the United States that meets our economic needs and relieves the pressure of illegal immigration at the border. No amnesty.
- Holding employers who hire illegal immigrants accountable, with beefed-up ID requirements - no excuses.
So now I signed that, and of course it was "whisked off to My Senators George Allen, and John Warner.
Now, as for bullet #1, I did not listen to the President's speech, and only heard VP Dick Cheney on "El Rushbo" today, and he came out with it... of the "Heralded" 6,000 National Guardsman, maybe 2-3,000 will be some where near the border during their normal Drill periods..... Big Freaking Whoop!!!!
I think Bill, Hillary, & Janet Reno had more firepower surrounding the Branch Davidians at Waco, (and how many TONS of drugs and illegal immigrants came over the border) during Operation "grab the headlines, so you'll forget how bad we've been screwing up our first term so far"???? A lot, almost as much as is probably coming across now.....
Bullet #2 Controlled legal entry... Can anyone tell me why there is NOT an Ellis Island type facility between the US and Mexico??? The part I really liked.... No hablo Amnesty. Look read this Washington Times article and get the reaffirmation you need, the implications of the illegals we have here now are a financial burden on Government, wait until they are all legal, and bring in their extended families... Now think about this.. Can we bring in 50 year olds to work the required, what like 3 or 4 years to get full social security benefits until they die????
Vincente Fox is laughing his rear end off!!! He can still keep his country impoverished, and push his social costs off on us, and an already overburdened ready to collapse Social Security system.... Can we screen our illegals to be like under the age of 30, and get them to take a "privatized" retirement plan now??? Hello Merrill Lynch, You are needed at the Border!!!!
Bullet #3 oh yeah, we are really going to start "cracking down" on those employers... What the ones who don't make campaign donations???? Give me a break, that is why we are in this mess..... Business wants cheap labor (that is fine), but they expect the average tax payers, and mostly local taxpayers burdened with school systems and extra police to pay for it....
I got an idea... since we are helping Mejico out with their population problem... Obviously they do not want their own people.... How about if they defer some of our costs with PETROLEUM. Yes, PETROLEUM!! Now, how about that for starters??? "W" is an Oil Man, and I bet the Pubs would like to get the price of Gas below oh, $2.50 before the November elections.....
I wish ol' Ken were in Augusta County today, so we could have that same conversation, but just on a different issue... because I liked his answer then, and he did seem to deliver in short order....(I am pictured here with Ken & VA Del.
