 RK has their Virgil Vigil, where they are hoping Conservatives will condemn Rep Virgil Goode's remarks that America should limit immigration of Muslims so as to prevent the debacle that has befallen Europe. RK says:

You thought we were going to let the Virginia GOP just slide by silent and unbruised over Virgil Goode's constant xenophobic attacks on a fellow congressman and an entire religious faith?

That's all interesting, but what about Senator Jim Webb's condemnation of Rep. Goode's remarks?

Well, I have checked here, and here, along with here, which would seem to be a fitting forum for Senator James Webb to denounce Rep. Virgil Goodes remarks.

Senator Jim Webb's silence is a tacit, if not non verbal endorsement of Rep. Virgil Goode's remarks on Muslim Immigration into the United States?

 Wandered over to my friends Squeaky and Jim's et al. to get their take on Sen. Barbara Boxer embarrassing herself by insulting Sec. of State Condeleeza Rice by insinuating that she has nothing to lose in the War on Terror (battlefield Iraq), because she is a single woman, never having born a child.

I like the NY Post's take on this:

The junior senator from California ap parently believes that an accom plished, seasoned diplomat, a renowned scholar and an adviser to two presidents like Condoleezza Rice is not fully qualified to make policy at the highest levels of the American government because she is a single, childless woman.

It's hard to imagine the firestorm that similar comments would have ignited, coming from a Republican to a Democrat, or from a man to a woman, in the United States Senate. (Surely the Associated Press would have put the observation a bit higher than the 18th paragraph of a routine dispatch from Washington.)

But Boxer's obvious hypocritical views on Ms. Rice's lifestyle and career choices aside, what I love is this quote left on Bearing Drifts comments section by Harry Landers, who btw is kinfolk of a one 'pillar of civility' , Waldo!  He Said:

Aw, come on. I think you may be looking to find an insult when none was made nor intended.

Take Waldo for instance who has a post on the Decline of Blogging in VA, where he states:

The result of this is that people take to reading only those blogs that espouse opinions that they already hold, because reading others is such an unpleasant experience. Such bloggers set the tone for the discussions, too, such that rational discourse is impossible.

Well, Waldo likes to spread rumor that  someone such as Senator Allen is  a "wife beater", but he laments how the press fails to drag someone's mother into a US Senate campaign?:

Do you guys really expect us to relish reading your accusations that a person is a wife beater or racist, and then engage in dialogue in the comments section trying to prove the double negative, that he is not? That gets old....

Harry's comment here is part of the dilemma, he tries to say "well it was taken the wrong way, or out of context". Maybe so Harry, although Boxer's comments were pretty direct to a fact, not an assumption.  The Left loves to 'label' their opponents with their version of what their 'opponent meant to say'.  I think it is pretty clear that Senator Boxer took a fact about Ms. Rice, and turned it into an insult.

You know, I needed 6 months off from blogging, and I started to enjoy it until my good friend Waldo who runs the VPB, Waldo's Political Blog decided to censor a fellow blogger General Grievous' Dog.

Tonight I see this, and I wonder.

Is the Webb's opposition research machine now in full gear in co-ordination with Waldo Jaquith? This photo reported to be of a minor can be found at The Richmond Democrat.  Shaun Kenney reported earlier that the Webb Machine, has collected information on all bloggers, is this also part of it?  Is this retaliation for Maxfield’s Parody of Waldo Jaquith?

Is this act meant to intimidate…. seems the 'intimidator' himself is taken to task over at Shriek's From the Booby Hatch.  Very interesting analysis indeed.....
