GGD has taken another bite!

Why in the world do our Conservatives gravitate to and play by the rules set down by the Left of the Center crowd (LOC), whose home  is the Democrat Party?

Our current controversy involving Waldo axing GGD from the former bi-partisan VA Political Blogs aggregator, and the resulting support he is receiving from 'Old Guard' Old Dominion Blog Alliance vets like Chad Dotson, and Shaun Kenney has me scratching my head.

Both of these gentleman are Conservatives who rail against the MSM, and its bias towards conservative views.  One of their defenses for Waldo is that "It's his aggregator".  Yes, it is, and the Washington Post LA Times, and the NYTimes own their newspapers also, which is exactly another one of our points.  Waldo's aggregator is also a source of news of the latest postings in the VA Blogosphere  is it not?  My suspicion is that we are going to get that same fair treatment over at Waldo's as George Allen Got in the WaPo, and it's already begun...

Waldo, unceremoniously delisted General Greivous Dog's Blog for posting a real photo, of a real occurrence of  an Islamic Terrorist beheading one of our citizens.  Waldo's actions are the exact same of the MSM and LOC editors.  The same group who brow beat Republicans running for office not to use images of 9-11 in their campaigns, lest they retain the Pub Parties strong reputation on National Defense.  (Speaker Pelosi anyone?)

Note  that Charles at Two Conservatives had to say over at Shaun Kenney's Blog, about his treatment by Chad.  Apparently, Mr. Dotson is taking a page out of Waldo's play book, and not allowing any comments....

i.e. Waldo will never let that Dog protest on his Aggregator again!  Come on Chad, I know you are a good Conservative, and I loved your blog, and all the links you gave to me when I first started out.  GGD and this band of bloggers defending his good name have not crossed the line of 'civility' towards Waldo.... WE are merely protesting his censorship of one of our fellow Conservative Bloggers! 

As a matter of fact we challenge all of our fellow bloggers to show us exactly HOW WE HAVE BEEN UNCIVIL TOWARDS WALDO!  Yes, that was shouting, because of a couple parodies, and dear Lord you think we had pulled him into the middle of the street and thrown him under a bus!  Hardly.

 I read Shaun Kenney's post concerning GGD and Waldo today, and I thought to my self about the disconnect between factions of the Republican Party, and why we are in our current  (losing) situation.

STD was on sabbatical for an entire two weeks before I saw that Waldo had axed GGD without warning from the VPB. Waldo's stated reason was that a half dozen persons (unknown) had complained that GGD posted the photo of the decapitation of an American at the hands of the Islamofascists...

This really disturbed me because heretofore the VPB has never been edited for content, and I saw Waldo's action identical of those Liberal politicians & editorialists in the MSM, who 'browbeat' the Conservatives into never being able to graphically show the attacks of 9-11.

9-11 was still so fresh in every American's mind, while John Kerry & the Dem Party in general so weak on National Defense that it didn't matter in the 2004 Presidential Election. Now enter the mid terms of 2006, and the MSM's steady drum of defeatism wore into the American Electorate, and look at the results....

Do you think Sen. Allen and lot of other Republican candidates wish they had explained more forcefully 'why we should be fighting the war'?  Enter Rep. Virgil Goode, and his statements of concern over unfettered immigration of Muslim immigrants to the United States. Goode's point was clear.  Europe is a 'powder keg' because they have allowed this unfettered influx of Muslims for cheap labor, and effectively been hog tied by it.  Riots in France anyone, Van Gogh’s Great, Great Grandson Murdered for offending images of Allah?

 GGD finally fed up with the constant 'we have nothing to fear from Muslims' arguments, utilized an image which, exactly illustrates what each one of us have to fear from them personally. It was effective, and Waldo immediately moved to snuff it out, while playing the aforementioned role of Liberal MSM editor.

 What did GGD accomplish? He totally diverted the attacks on Goode in the VA Blogosphere, and has shifted the debate towards the Muslim Threat. Did the ODBA, & all their 'civilized' tone bring this about?  No...

See Shaun, here is something you may be overlooking, while in your comfy ‘eldership’ at the ODBA… The Blogs, SWAC Girl, Elle, the Journal of the Common Man, and GGD have something in common….. They are all related to grass roots volunteer work on Republican Campaigns going back to 1990’s. This group, came together quickly recognizing, that Waldo was censoring just as the MSM and decided to take a stand…

Let me elaborate further, Grass Roots volunteers don’t do it for the $$ or the ego trip, they come together over PRINCIPLES… Such as smaller govt, lower taxes, etc. and they absolutely abhor the MSM, whom Waldo and his aggregator now came to represent.

 This is exactly what is wrong with the VA Republican Party, we have a ‘Club’ in the Senate, who is currently endangering our Pub majority in the House, by consistently pressing to raise taxes, during years of surplus. They are violating a principle.

My concern with your decision to support Waldo, (over your fellow Republican bloggers), is you basically say what? Waldo throws some great parties for us, and puts me on a panel?  Terry Rea of Slant Blog, refers to two sets of bloggers, one basically rabble rousers and wannabe’s (the unwashed), and for lack of a better term…The In Crowd’, or as I label them the “washed’, who enjoy one another’s company, and in effect are the only ones, who could possibly have any kind of meaningful political discourse in our Great Commonwealth.

 Interestingly enough, certain members of the ‘unwashed’ were watching the movie ‘Braveheart’ last night where in the Battle of Falkirk (1298); William Wallace led his peasant army onto the field & united with a Irish unit (who were part of the English force), and engaged the rest of the English Army in battle.  At a critical stage in the battle, the Scottish Nobles, who came with Wallace to the battle, simply rode off, having accepted a deal from the English King Longshanks for more land and English title, leaving Wallace and his peasants to fight their way out of the trap….

The peasants came to the battle to fight for the principle of Freedom, and they fought for one another.

 One day you might need us peasants who fight for principles, and not titles and such, we fight to survive. Sure wish you were with us. Enjoy your party over at Waldo’s Political Blogs…. Maybe after we lose the next election Shaun, you can be called in to deliver a ‘Poetic Benediction’ for our side…. You do speak Latin don’t you?

Meanwhile, bask in the accolades of the Left, just as Senator McCain does, when he veers from Conservative Principles and gets this kind of gushing from Die Hard Liberals, an excerpt from Slant Blog:

Drinking that kool-aide now can get you all giddy, but just like John McCain is now seen as the Pub front runner the Liberal Knives come out.  Some will call this post a 'mean spirited attack'.  It is not, it is only the truth.  Find me a grass roots Pub (you know the peasants), who loves McCain....

hint, hint, the Liberals are freaking laughing their heads off, as they have hoodwinked the 'Clubby Pubs' again....

oh, and everyone try not to get to bent out of shape about a couple photo parodies....

You know, I needed 6 months off from blogging, and I started to enjoy it until my good friend Waldo who runs the VPB, Waldo's Political Blog decided to censor a fellow blogger General Grievous' Dog.

Tonight I see this, and I wonder.

Is the Webb's opposition research machine now in full gear in co-ordination with Waldo Jaquith? This photo reported to be of a minor can be found at The Richmond Democrat.  Shaun Kenney reported earlier that the Webb Machine, has collected information on all bloggers, is this also part of it?  Is this retaliation for Maxfield’s Parody of Waldo Jaquith?

Is this act meant to intimidate…. seems the 'intimidator' himself is taken to task over at Shriek's From the Booby Hatch.  Very interesting analysis indeed.....

 It's been a good run... one year, Nov. 17th 2005 was my first post on STD.  If I had a "shrink" he/she'd probably tell me that blogging was good for me and a great release for my political frustrations...

I am going to have to find other ways to "vent" for the next six months or so.  I hear they will be holding elections again... Nov. 07'.  Any how, maybe the occasional COC hosting or something.  I've been in Montana for the last week, it's amazing how very much "like" it is to the Shenandoah Valley of VA.  Well, with the exception, that there are real Ski/Snowboard Resorts here, and actual snow on the ground, and the micro brews here, absolutely, positively "Crush" the microbrewries in VA... sorry folks...

I've been reading Vapoliticalblogs  and get oh, so tempted to post a few times, but it's time to take a few months off.... 

I will say this though... So our efforts in Iraq is a failure?

• Millions freed from a tyrant.. Failure?
• Tyrant brought before his victims for punishment... failure?
• A true democratic/republic set up with three free elections... failure?
• Arab women not only voting, but holding public office.. failure?
• American Fighting Forces again spreading Freedom in foreign lands...failure?

The true failures are those who can not see beyond partisan politics while, "straining at a gnat, while they can not see the log in their own eye"....
