RPV challenge for 08 - problem is 07' GA elections....

varpv.jpg This is a cartoon I commissioned last year, but never really marketed.  I gave the original shirt to a GOP "activist", and sent a couple dozen to Vince (Too Conservative) for his Young Pubs Convention last year.

The point of the image is that VA has voted for the Pub Presidential candidate every year since 1968, with Virginia going for Richard M. Nixon, thru GWB in 2004.

Not to get off subject, but even notice that Wikopedia uses a "true" electoral map of blue for Pub states and red for Democrat states... further evidence is here at David Leip's US Election Atlas.org that the MSM in all it's bias switched the colors from Pub/blue to Dem/blue after Reagan's last election in 1984 to further separate/insulate the Democratic Party's true heritage in Socialist/Communist origins with Karl Marx....

That actual, and rock solid evidence aside, usually the term "see red" means that "you are angry", you see red when something displeases you, drove the design of the shirt/image/caricature.  So I think it's somewhat appropriate....

Anyhow, the real challenge of RPV is to keep the Dems "Seeing Red" for a solid 40 years is to bring VA home for the Pubs yet again in 2008.

It would seem that the VA Conservative blogs predict a coronation of  "VA Lite, DC Heavy Weight Champion", Ed Gillespie as our new RPV chair at the Homestead next week is a move in that direction... but what will happen if the Dems make some gains, if not gain a majority of seats in the VA House of Delegates this coming November of 2007... Will not the Pub Party be in total disarray?

I know Presidential Elections are a different breed in all elections, it tends to really bring out the All the voters and is probably the best indicator of them all as to the real political "leanings" of a states electorate.... But what if the "DC Pubs" give us McCain-Guiliani08?  McCain-Allen08', or even McCain-Brownback08? Could they still pull VA?

Against Hillary-Warner08?  What if Hillary votes for S 4057?  If she cares about female hikers being able to provide for their own self defense in our National Parks she would.

Thoughts on Senator Allen, Senator elect Jim Webb, RPV & VA GA

Get this from the Patrick J. Buchanan Blog:

He is, for instance, an absolutist on Second Amendment rights — the right to keep and bear arms — but he made sure the subject seldom arose as he campaigned in the liberal suburbs of northern Virginia.

How many Second Amendment Voters did you lose Senator Allen?  I find these whining Liberal Blogs a hoot today!  Go Webb! Howl on Latina!  Boo Hoo, Liberal Progressive!

An Oct. 30 campaign letter by Jim Webb -- the Democrat who narrowly defeated Allen -- shows that he promised to introduce similar legislation.

I find this Letter to the Editor very interesting, appearing in today's Washington Times:

LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
November 24, 2006

Sen. Allen's slide
In the aftermath of his Nov. 7 defeat, Virginia Republicans might profit from some of the lessons learned in that 1993 victory that were apparently forgotten by Sen. George Allen and his handlers since that early success.
Governor-elect George Allen made no direct statements of his own particular ideological stance; he merely let the Democrats label him without refutation. The 2006 election was a far cry from the winning Allen strategy of 1993.Who in Virginia really believes that Mr. Allen is a "feminist," as opposed to Jim Webb as a male chauvinist.
Clearly, Mr. Allen pandered to the wrong audience in an apparent attempt to shore up eroding support by the same socially conservative Virginians who strongly supported him in 1993. In point of fact, Mr. Allen's attacks on Mr. Webb's 1979 position on women in combat played to feminists and enhanced Mr. Webb's appeal to men. By a solid and continuing majority, Virginians are self-conscious conservatives and will vote that way given an opportunity. This principle has endured through growth and demographic changes, and only seems to change when the clarity of a left-right choice between candidates is blurred.

Russian Propaganda never sleeps

417908-526902-thumbnail.jpg

Check this Russian Propaganda out for their SU-35 Fighter/Attack aircraft...  Taking out B-52's and their American escort fighters?, and knocking out presumably a lone Aegis Cruiser... No sign of F-18 E/F SuperHornets here!

H/T Defense Industry Daily.

For all their hubris, and even with Former President Jimmy Carter's best efforts to "defang" the US Military, you would think that the Mighty Soviet Armies would have crushed us in the 1980's with all their Superiority in numbers and technology then.  Well, we know one thing for sure, they surely wouldn't have tried anything on Ronald Reagan, and we possess, (without the need for propaganda) the best Air, Land, and Sea Forces in the World, Then and now!

and Ronnie had this to say (need to browse with Microsquish)

VCDL Alert: Senator Allen introduces S 4057 on Guns!

417908-485854-thumbnail.jpg( A Woman & a Gun)

According to my Virginia Citizens Defense League alert email,  Lame Duck,  Senator Allen has introduced S 4057, from which I excerpt:

Urgent! We need to roll up our sleeves and hit this hard!

Senator George Allen, keeping his word to gun owners, has introduced S 4057, the National Park Second Amendment Restoration and Personal Protection Act of 2006, which will allow gun owners to carry in a National Park as long as the state where the National Park is located allows carry in parks!

Senator Allen needs to get the bill a Floor vote in the Senate and get it off to the House for passage that must happen before the end of the current session of Congress.

We need to do the following things ASAP to help Senator Allen MAKE THIS HAPPEN!:

1. Contact Senator John Warner and ask him to support S. 4057

Phone: 202-224-2023    Fax: 202-224-6295

Uhhh, for you Dems... The pay backs begin, because Senator Elect Jim Webb better get a MSM microphone in his face to be asked about this....  According to all accounts... and I have sources deep within the Webb Campaign/staff....  Webb is all about this bill.... He even likes Assault Rifles, and wants Nationwide Concealed Carry! (well actually, I don't but look at this link, and check out all the posts by the "Donkey", who is a frequent tormentor, commenter here at STD.  He's got the scoop.... Webb is the Man on 2A!

You know, we should have had a guy dressed up as a semi-automatic pistol following the Webb campaign around to his campaign stops with Loyalist Webb supporters.....  The crazy moon beam Dems would shout "what is that man with that gun suit here for"!  and he could reply.... Oh, I am here to help Jim get out his pro 2A position on guns... in case he forgot to mention it in his stump speechPsychotic.  (OK, that's over the top)

But you know, why in the heck are we now.... now.... a little more emphasis... NOW!! getting this Senate Bill introduced?  How about before the campaign is on going (this is directed at Senator Allen's Campaign people), so that maybe you can emphasize Senator Allen's fine record on 2A, and highlight to the Left Wing  Nut Job Grassroots supporters of Jim Webb (his 2A supporters excluded of course :-), that he also is "on the record", as big on 2A Supporter?

That issue is like poison to your average Dem....

To be exact, the equivalent is identifying Sen. George Allen as being Pro Abortion....  It will kill your "grass roots" support in a hurry in the conservative community....  Think of this connection... Anti-War, Anti-Gun.... Uh Freaking Duh.....

417908-446574-thumbnail.jpg Jim Webb ought to appoint the "Donkey" and the "Mule", to like head of some committee overseeing the National Park Services gun or hunting issues.  Those two guys carried the Day for Jim Webb and getting the message out on 2A!  You want to know where maybe 10,000 votes were lost?  Maybe from your loyal 2A voters, who were lured away by Jim Webb because the Allen Campaign did not make it clear enough that if the Dems control the Senate they can be very, very detrimental to your 2A rights?

Yeah, I'm still p*ssed!!! So what... It's my D*mn Blog and I'm going to post what I want, and what I am thinking about.... The Allen Campaign was afraid to embrace 2A as an issue, and I think it cost them dearly.....  Senator Warner retires soon...... and the Donkey and the Mule are going to have all that more ammunition if Senator elect Jim Webb picks up the 2A ball and gets something through the Senate.....

Think about that....* Senator Mark Warner... Pro Business, Pro 2A.... confirming more Liberal Judges to the Senate, like maybe Senator, Justice Hillary Rodham Clinton. (she'll divorce Bill's butt).

*I still think Gov. Warner will be Hillary's running mate.
